Today was my mom's birthday. I took her out to lunch, then to see 'Windtalkers.'

Mom didn't like it at all, but I thought it was pretty good. Although it was rather predictable (like the opening scene with Nic. It's just him and a bunch of extras, so we know the whole platoon - minus Nic, naturally - will be taken out. You could pratically hear John Woo saying 'angst about your dead platoon......NOW!') and corny (need I mention the harmonica/erm...native american flute? duet) at times. But, still, not bad. Maybe I'll go into detail later. And, ya know, I may just write post-movie fic about this. *pats Nic Cage on the head* Much better than 'Gone in 60 Seconds.' And the end of 'Captain Correlli's Mandolin' (Just to be clear, I'm not saying that the ending was the only bad part of 'CCM' It's just the only part I saw. I snuck in with a couple of friends after seeing another movie.)

And I saw the Brad Whitford/Jane K. M&M commercial. It amused me. I can see Brad and Jane disposing of the body, the cops come calling, tension rises. It could be like 'Unfaithful,' except with a piece of candy instead of a French dude. *shrug* Could be a good movie.

Then, went to Target. And I bought the 'Kate and Leopold' DVD. Yeah, I knew it was coming. I was fretting over whether to get it or 'The Shipping News,' but decided on 'K&L' because it has better extras. Now I have Brad, Liev, and pretty scenes of NYC. *sigh* You know, I don't regret it. Even though I told myself I wouldn't buy it, and Meg Ryan drives me nuts in the flick, it still has Brad, Liev, and pretty scenes of NYC. So, I think it's twenty bucks well spent.

Also, finished the second draft of the Donna/Laurie story. Yay for me!
